Thank you, james for the excellent dinosaur card!

I've been too exhausted to do any of the semi-bespoke painting I half-promised over the summer, but I had a last-minute compulsion to make hand-printed cards because anything that looks like work went into it makes me appear marginally better.

You see? the cards say. An Effort.

I don't mind how they turned out. Sort of "the Dove of Peace is pissed and wants you to get your shit together."

I recently watched a video about lino print making wherein I learned it's pretty common to burnish the flip side of the paper into the stamp for the clearest, darkest print.

... But I actually secretly prefer a less pristine print! I like to be able to see the effect of the paper's texture & recognize an individuality in each imprint, which is kind of the purpose of hand-printing IMO. All to say: they turned out great.

Thank you! Yeah, the cards had a particular texture. I just had to work with. I do have some paper with a rough and a smooth side, so I could experiment with that.

We failed at taking pictures of ourselves this year that would be suitable for a photo card, and I feel like we're disappointing family members at least by not doing one. But bulk cards will have to do.
