I was listening to a really interesting discussion of Mike Leigh's latest, Peterloo, on something BBC-derived -- either Kermode and Mayo or the Saturday Review, I should think -- about how the point of struggle is often not that you win but that your struggle made more struggles possible, thinkable, believe-in-able. This is not to say that I anticipate its being wasted. I anticipate nothing. It seems safer.
I had great plans for this afternoon to be extra functional -- work, gym -- but I think it will be Nap. For dinner I'm meeting a friend at the Korean fried chicken place, and then I'm going to bring chicken to S.'s place, and LB and S and I will watch the midterm results until we are too sleepy to go on.
